FOOD PRODUCTION

People are starving in Africa. Food is the main ingredient for life after water. Therefore, humans can not survive without food. People in the past try to find many ways to provide food. They were depending on hunting and agriculture therefore they inventing tools for this purpose. In the past .There was no problem in the quantity of food because of the small number of people at that time. But, at this time the number of people has increased and the need for food increased too. Our world has addresses many wars in order to control or find new food sources. Since that time we are every day witnessing a large number of deaths because of lack of food. Thus, developed countries must play its role to fight poverty all over the world in every possible ways. Send international aid, provide food in large quantities, and involve the poor people to find solutions and the education. All these efforts can be successful to combat poverty and lack of food in the world.

Food production is produce moor food in large quantities. People started looking for more resource of food because of the population growth. Numbers of people have increased and the resources of food have decreased. In “Impact of Population Growth on Food Supplies and Environment” the author r said, “As the world population continues to grow geometrically, great pressure is being placed on arable land, water, energy, and biological resources to provide an adequate supply of food while maintaining the integrity of our ecosystem”( Pimentel, 1996, para.1). Africa and some other countries are straggling because of hunger. In Some parts in world people cannot find food and they are dieing every. In “18,000 children die every day of hunger, U.N. says” the author claim that “ Some 18,000 children die every day because of hunger and malnutrition and 850 million people go to bed every night with empty stomach”. (18,000 children die every day of hunger, 2007, para. 1.). The world should do something fast to step the big losing of people around world.

First off all, food relief has significant impact in the fight against hunger and poverty. No doubt about the importance of the international Aid organizations to combat poverty in several regions such as Africa and Asia. Food organizations have positive role in solving some problems of poverty. But, many poor nations still suffering from poverty and need more assistance. People in Africa dying every day in front of television screens because of lack of food this means that these organization could not provide enough quantities of food for poor people in that areas. Therefore it is the duty of rich governments to provide new sources of food with large quantities to assist humanitarian to do its duty.

Next, the need for food production has increased. Thus, many countries are looking now for new sources off food. Clone is one of the ways to increase and product new source of food also Aquaculture which use in different countries.” Aquaculture can be used to raise fish and shellfish in freshwater ponds or in fenced-in areas of floating cages in coastal lagoons and estuaries. It is supplies about 10% of the world’s commercial fish harvest”. (Miller, 1993. P.46). Because of the population growth the need for produce a large quantities of food in different ways become a top priority. ”Scientists have identified many plants and insects that could be used as sources of food” (Miller, 1993. P.44). In other word, the urgent need for food will make human looking for new sources to produce food.

Also, education is the basis for the success of any country in all areas. Therefore, we all know that poverty and starvation are usually spread in the illiteracy countries. Thus, education may be is one appropriate solution to combat poverty. If we provide education to poor people that will give them the skills that they need to improve their lives. In addition, education and poverty have direct link.” Hunger not only kills people, but it also takes away the ability to work and learn”. (World food day: Fight hunger to reduce poverty, 2001, para.4). So, education will give poor people more knowledge about agriculture, fishing and many skills. All these benefits from education may reduce the poverty rate not to mention the job opportunities that will be available for them.

Finally, the involvement of people in solving their problems is the first step in solving the problem. The lack of food production can be solving individually. Land reform is one way to do that. People can produce their own food if they own the land that they work in. own a land by poor people consider as a way to reduce hunger and poverty.” An important step in reducing hunger, malnutrition, poverty, and land degradation is land reform”. ( Miller, 1993. P.46) Thus, if we give poor people the chance to solve their problems with help form the governments that would be the first step to eradiate poverty.

Opponents claim that food relief may have a negative impact. Some experts say “most people view food relief as a humanitarian effort to prevent people form dying prematurely; however some analysts contend that giving food to starving people in countries with high population growth rates dose more harm than good in the long run”. Whoever, they are wrong because even if they think that helping people will let them depend on such organization instead of looking for solutions for their problem that will not negate the need for humanitarian aid. Also, the lack of suitable environment for grazing or cultivation is one of the reasons that supporting the need to help those people.” Other believe we have a moral obligation to feed the hungry under any circumstances”( Miller, 1993. P.46) thus, we have to help hungry people regardless where are they or what they have to do as long as they need help.

In conclusion, the need to increase food production has become a prerequisite these days. There are many countries suffer from food shortages. Finding solutions to this problem such as education, find other sources of food, and produce more food. Also make poor people involved in solving the problem and send aid through humanitarian is the appropriate solutions to stop the problem of lack food production. The number of the people is increasing and the need for more food is increasing too. We should find the rote of the problem in order to finish it for good.
